Berkeley Stories

How I got to berkeley :

parents forced it once I got accepted....
I applied under the College of Chemistry because that's what I liked and wanted at the time. Plus fact that berkeley seemed like a fun and highly respected top notch school. The other school I could have gone to, University of Pennsylvania, didn't quite manage to get the financial aid in time. Even in retrospect, I'd chose Berkeley.

Freshman yr

l decided to be safe and do the dorm thingie....figured I was going to be too busy studying to deal with keeping up a household. The small 3 person room I was in was quite interesting. My roommates Jamila and Amiee were nice people, but I was never in the room, mostly down in the lounge playing ping-pong and pool. :) The living situation was kinda crowded but it all worked out. Me and Jamila in particular liked hanging out on the 4th floor (all guys floor). Between the two of us we "owned" the penises on the 4th floor. The funniest event was when an open condom wrapper floated into our room from the room above and when the guy burst into our room thinking it was his...as well as the time he ran in the hall ways demanding a condom. The stories got even more interesting once Aimee moved out to trasfer to another school. The spare bed in the bunk bed got used for many a guest, male and female. The major story for me was when Nick managed to kick me OFF this top bunk from my bed below dorking around...luckily...Tony was there to catch me.

Needless to say, Berkeley was pretty culture shockish. Everything from meeting the naked guy on day one, the co-ed showers, the drug dealers on my floor, to the clubs and cults on campus I got pretty homesick and desperate. Luckily this was the year I met the 4th nation boys, learned about computers, snuck off to seattle to visit best friends from high school, and partied too hard and got into trouble.
The worst trouble I got into this first year was drinking and passing out in a bed(room) of ill repute on the 4th floor, nearly flunking myself out, and spending too much money. aka being irresponsible for once

Sophomore yr

Here I studied a bit more, but still never quite caught up in chem..here I was too busy learning about love and doing relationship type stuff and etc. I started working in the chem stock rooms (against strong objections from my Chemistry TA's), became a security monitor, and took many high interesting classes. It was also this year that I got seriously into computersand had to deal with buying the house. While things were more in balance now, I was still doing the who the hell am I think. And the new roommate "Kultista" dind't help any. She was pretty wild and out there. Different hair color every day and smoked pot like no one business. She was a fun person to hang wiht but just too "punk" for me. She did however give me a cool tarantula.

Halfway though this year, I decided to save more money and move out of the dorms. I felt I could handle it. Sadly it meant the end to lounge life as I loved it and my security monitor job. Little did I know it'd be an experience. I moved in with Jenni....into a place right by soda hall, computer geek heaven. I thought it was the greatest thing. She was a great cook, knew loads about computers, had a bf with a car, etc, etc, etc. Unfortunatly, she had a few habits that dind't work out too well for us, being extremely messy was the main problem, among other things. Needless to say due to many differences I moved out after 3 months and into my southside place. I only wish I could have been more understanding and a better roommate. Here the new roommates Heather, and Diana were far more tolerable, I was more understanding. I'm still great friends with them today. I hope they forgive me for not writing here, but they are so involved with all the other stories....I will mention the bust size contest, the make up, the orgies, and stuff later.

Junior yr

This was the year where I switched majors to graduate and stay in school....poor Archie had no one to do his homework for him anymore. It was too bad really...I was totally aceing p-chem. He was the 4th nationer that was also a chem major. Here the 3 of us girls still had loads of fun and continued our antics. Including a fun vacation to yosemite and reno or something. School at this point had become secondary and non-issue....breezed through classes. Though circadian rhythms classes and p-chem was fun. Mostly Julie grows up. This was also the breakup of the most serious long term relationship I had ever had up to this point. It was "interesting".

Senior yr

This was a fast blur too...stable home life, new relationship with lots of fun, easy school and 4 day weekends every week made for a pretty damn fucking sweet life. This is also the summer my brother came to cal and crashed with us. So starts my support and watching over of my brother. Here I was eager to being real life and get out of school. I ended up taking a day off from work to go to my own graduation. Highly funny. :) This was also the yr that Heather moved off to Alaska to fullfill her debt to the US Army. She is there currently as far as I know.

SUMMERS

mostly spent in summer school. Most memorable is trip to Great America, living with Pri and Yoko in Nicks apartment, and doing some traveling. I also worked in a lab over one summer....a job I hope to go back to some day. The one awsome summer school story is where I stayed up until 6 am chatting on the computer the night before a midterm in Music 27....woke up an hr into the midterm....rushed there and finished the test on time as best I could. Luckily, the music listening section was second and not first in the test...so I listened AND filled out the multiple choice questions as fast as I could. Amazingly...I got an A for the midterm and an A for the class. :) This is also when the infamous knife story happened...I held a knife to Pri's neck since she wouldn't give me back my computer for the longest time! I must defend it! hehe
