My Loving Family

My family lives in paradise on a tiny tropical island in the middle of the middle of the Pacific Ocean called Guam. It's near Taiwan, Japan and the Phillipines. My mom and dad live in a tiny two-story house provided my by dad and his job as an airplane mechanic for Continental airlines. My mom provides really nice stuff in the house through her job as a manager for the duty-free shop at the Japan Plaza hotel. My brother was Mister Perfect at the local high school. ('Nuff said.) But now he's here at CAL w/ me living in Richmond and has graduated (May 2000). He's working for Alameda County now.

With two kids here my parents manage to visit a lot, especially considering they're thousand of miles away. All is all you could say we were the typical happy asian family. While I don't see extended family very often or know them well, I manage to visit them here and there. Current thoughts as we two kids are getting older is to provide a more local housing location (prolly concord) for the parents, mostlyto prevent them from moving in with me!

I love them all very dearly, and if I said everything I could, this page would never end, so I'll leave it at this. We get along great, but not to say we didn't have our differences. A few of my fondest memories are times spent traveling and shopping w/ them and various other family friends. For example, I'll never forget the time I was pulled out of 1st grade to go to Hawaii and spend my birthday there. *grin* I felt so special.

Of course, this all changed greatly when I got married! Eric Herbert Mehlhaff is my wonderful husband. A whole new extended family began. My father-in-law Leon-Curtis is a Chemistry professor at UOP as well as a licensed lawyer. My mother-in-law Lois is a substitute teacher as well as a paralegal. They hail from Tacoma Washington and currently still reside there in the most adorable red brick house. Leon-Curtis is originally from San Jose and even went to Berkeley like Eric and I, so California isn't that much of a change for Eric. My brother-in-law's Karl and Curt are also a hoot. Karl is an awsome network engineer and is Eric's protege, and together they rule the net. Curtie is a machinest working in precision metal cutting with lasers. Again, I said everything I could, this page would never end, so I'll leave it at this. However, stay tuned for amazing family stories! Amazingly the Mehlhaff family is very similar to the Lins so everyone gets along swimmingly.
