Guam Stories

mostly cultural really....

I had this science teacher for 7th and 8th grade that was a native guamaniam. She would tell us folklore stories about the taotaomonas (native ghosts) and sierna (mermaids) and etc.

The stories were quite entertaining, but nothing could beat the laid back atmosphere of the island and the partying. While it was a strongly catholic island, it's weird that half my senior class got pregnant before graduation. Just goes to show the educational level and practices of the island. Not to be disparaging at all...these are friendly intelligence warm people and I have many friends there. Definetly a small village feel.

The island has changed alot and mostly become modernized and kinda like waikiki...which is very sad....it's been spoiled. I have not been back there in a while so I don't know how bad it is....hopefully I will soon....

I recommend you all read up on Guam if interested in more facts other than human experience.
